End of the semester

Hi guys
In this moment I don't know what write.
My mind is centered in semester end's, and in pass every courses.
Come back to class is horrible when I have only a month to save complete semester, and specially when there are some difficult subjects.
A good example is Anthropology of religion, a sociocultural course, that is impart for social mention in Anthropology career. In this trade, we need have at least three marks at end of month, and the teacher want that marks at the expensed of long tests, with one thousand pages for every one in less than one month. As well as of the final exam. And this setting is only for ONE course.
Another difficult subject is cualitative methodology, we need to make an anthropological investigation in LESS A MONTH. That is practically imposible. By now, at this point, we don't anything to do.
This setting have me very upset, angry, and stressed. Not to mention than we will have not winter vacations.

Bye guys.

Soccer

Hi guys

In this occasion, and taking advantage of Chile is in atmosphere of America´s Cup, and father’s day, I will talk about soccer.
I know than many people see soccer as a something negative because of the Fifa and his administrative disorder, and his corruption. Besides the cup, and many championship of this natures sometimes only serve to make invisible the social conflicts of a country or continent.
But today I won't talk of that part, I want talk about what soccer as a sport means to me.
Previously I said that I would use the theme of Father's day, This is because I didn't grow up with my biological father, in exchange I haved Three male figures throughout my life  who supplemented the parental role, acompanying to my mother and my grandmother during all stages of my life, They where my grandfather, my uncle, and my stepfather.
The name of my uncle is Claudio Vilches, he has always played soccer, and he love’s these sport, and is a fan of Colo.colo. When I was a little girl, he took me to stadium, and to my giant doll, and with my aunt say him play. Go to the stadium was something every sunday. And when he not playing, we watched the games on TV together.  Of course, when playing colo-colo was a festivity.
That's why soccer is so important to me, because it represents the connection a person has with a dad, I have it with my uncle. As well as I share the passion for food with my grandfather, and word games with my stepfather.

I hope you have a nice weekend

Bye

A sad story

Hi guys
In this ocassion I talk about of my dead pets.
This is a long and old story, and very sad. I will start since year 1995.
When I was a baby, my mother bought me a pet, a black dog, it was very small and his hair was curly :') His name was Terry, and always taked care of me. I don't remember very well, I just remember how it looked.
The sad part of this story is that the neighbor killed the dog with poison :( and for nearly three years we didn't have pets, only hens roost back of the house :B
When I was a little girl (year 2000), I haved another mate, his name was Iriti, he was a little dog, his color was coffee with milk. :3 It was a very playful, and barking were small and sharp. I remember a lot of things with he, I remember us playing, or by feeding him <3 He is the pet to which I most wanted in my life and always I remember him with fondly.
The bad news is that the same neighbor poisoned Iriti .. I suffered a lot with his lost, and because of that my family decided not to give me a pet anymore.
In my house today have a dog name Platón, but almost never see for being here, in Stgo. I don't see it as a pet, or as a companion as they were the previous two.
I prefer see it only as a dog who loves chasing cyclists through the gate :)
The end ...

Strike

Hi class!

Well, in this occasion, I will talk about of the student strike by the university's happening.
For this, I will answer the central questions we have to answer.

Why is Facso (and a number of faculties at U Chile) on strike this time?
Facso, and a number of faculties at Universidad de Chile, on strike, for many reasons. Between them, education market, the precarious state of the university, or exessive repression and violence by government through police.
How do you participate in these strikes?
On one side, participate passively not going to class, or evaluations, and moreover, participate actively going to talks, go to activities, and contribute to discussions.
I personally do not do that. I'm of region, and would rather spend time with my family during the strike. Because in the holidays I can not do it, because I will be in class.
What benefits do you think will be obtained?
On my opinion, do know there is a discontent on students, and in general education.
Although, I think if the affairs of the students don't jointly with workers, we not get anything.
From your experience, what are the drawbacks of these strikes?
In academic field, less time to field contents, and knowledge gaps for us.
In social fields, I think the information is not good to many people, for this, the media manipulates and many people think the strikes are bad and harmful.
Can you think of other means that can contribute to obtain what you (students) are after?
I think, marches are not good, and they became a habit. I think needs to be done on a larger scale interventions.

Bye!

Popular Art

Hi guys!
Taking advantage of today was the "Day of the cultural heritage" in our country, I will talk about one of the oldest heritage that we have.
It's about Popular Art :)
The popular art, is tha art of common people, is more closer to handicrafts. This art, is not related with series production or with legitimation of control and power directly of the authority.
Along of all american continent, the pupolar art is present in cultures since inmemorable times. We can find it in different instruments, artefacts, ornaments, tools, even in the wardrobe, and this can be made with different materials: ceramic, stone, brass, wood, glass, fiber vegetal, fiber of animals, gypsum, among others.
The importance of the popular art for history, lie in show us the different cultural expressions that come from the people, those artisan records that not come from powers of domination or economy. This art is apart of all those.
In addition, through these we can visualise diverse sphere of social life and his practises, such as religion, work, education, beliefs, medicine, rituals, among others.
Is really interesting! :)
Bye, have a nice week :)

Performative Archaeology

Hello Class :)

On my presentation, I want to talk you about performative archaeology.
Performative archaeology is a branchof the archaeology family. This archaeology approaches it's subject matter on a perceptive way. appealing to feelings and experiences, mainly visual and tactile to better understand the materiality.
This is a type of archaology that uses tools of art and social anthropology for a better understanding. It's like to ask oneself  What does this mean? And respond thinking for yourself What do I think when I see it? What do I feel when I touch it?
This discipline is classified as postmodern archaeology for most archaeologists.
I choose this topic because I discovered a short time ago there was this current within the various branches of archaeology.
I also chooe this topic because I study social anthropology, and performative archaeology is very close to my discipline. Both play with the archaeological material and try to give a new, creative and different approach to the archeological record.
To structure my presentation, I will first a general introduction to the subject as I previously put.
I will say that is performative archaeology, and what makes it.
Then, I go into detail about in the topic for explain how the discipline works and how to reach the material record, name the ways in which it has been studied, where, and who are the authors who have developed this current. For example Michael Shanks, who has studied from the meta-media lab.
Finally I will explain a little more as the performative archaeology becomes an interesting alternative to study and lear from the past.

I hope you like my proposed topic, and any suggestion are welcome :)

I hope you have a nice weekend ;)
